Programs and Services

St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School School offers many programs and services to meet the individual needs of all of our students.

School Nutrition Awareness Program (SNAP)

Our popular School Nutrition Awareness Program (SNAP) serves approximately 390 students a day, and begins the first week of school. The program is run by parent and student volunteers. It is funded by the Durham's Child Nutrtion Project program and through donations made by our community partners and members of our parent community. Cash donations are gratefully accepted, and help to keep our students nourished and ready to learn.

The program is staffed by volunteers who promote healthy living, value a healthy diet, and who are willing to donate a little of their time in the morning once a week. If you are available to volunteer on a weekday morning, please call the school office 905-623-5151 and we will contact the program co-ordinators; Gwen Breen and Lisa Beynon.

Special Education

Our School Board also delivers programs and supports that enable all students to reach their highest potential. Visit Special Education Services and learn about the Board's Autism classrooms, Snoezelen rooms, and speech and language services.

In addition to the above mentioned programs and services , you can read about French Immersion offered at specific schools, or browse some of our community resource links gathered as information sources for you.
